Dr Campbell is a General Internist, a Professor of Medicine, Community Health Sciences and Physiology and Pharmacology and a member of the Libin Cardiovascular Institute of Alberta and O’Brien Institute of Public Health at the University of Calgary.

Dr Campbell is currently; Member and past Chair and Co-Chair of the Pan American Health Organization / World Health Organization Expert and Technical Advisory Groups on Cardiovascular Disease Prevention through Dietary Salt Reduction; Member of the World Health Organization (WHO) Expert Advisory Panel on Nutrition (non-communicable disease); Consultant to RESOLVE (to save 100 million lives), to the Task Force for Global Health, and to several national governmental programs to reduce dietary salt and to control hypertension.

Dr Campbell has over 460 peer-reviewed manuscripts and over 500 national/ international invited presentations.
