Shonda Young BSN, LNHA
Shonda is a licensed nursing home administrator at Veteran Village Veterans Home with 20 years of experience serving veterans and providing the best health care experience and ensuring that her staff does the same. Even though she has many duties, the one that is essential is listening to her residents and determining their needs are met. My goal is to excel in customer experience where Veteran Village has accomplished 100% favorability customer rating and scored in the top 15% nationwide across a 12-month average. In her role, Shonda is dedicated to providing exceptional service and Veteran Village is not just another nursing home but the nursing home of choice. She is passionate, dedicated and skilled at building relationships and implementing quality measures that drive resident and family satisfaction. She motivates and influences her team through effective leadership to listen, communicate, value and provide the veterans a home away from home experience.
Shonda obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business with a specialization in Healthcare Management at Faulkner University. She earned two certifications Licensed Nursing Home Administrator from South Carolina Board of Long Term Health and Nursing Home Administrator from Alabama Board of Health. Both are industry recognized as a benchmark for excellence.
On a personal note, Shonda has been married for 30 yrs to her high school sweetheart Stanley and they are the proud parents of two graduate students, Christianna and Alaina.
