Colleen Geis BA, CPSS
Colleen Geis is a Certified Peer Support Specialist, CPSS Trainer, and trained Community Doula through BirthMatters and ReBIRTHeD. At MUSC, she supports individuals with medically complex conditions and perinatal substance use disorders, walking alongside them on their recovery journey. As Program Coordinator for ReBIRTHeD, Colleen co-facilitates Peer Recovery Doula Trainings, blending peer support and birth work to transform birthing experiences into powerful turning points. Passionate about dismantling stigma and helping people reclaim their worth, she draws on her own experience as a mother in recovery from substance use disorder and complex trauma. She serves on the board of FAVOR Lowcountry, holds a BA in Sociology from the University of Colorado Boulder, and incorporates mindfulness and meditation into her holistic approach to healing. In her free time, she loves creating beautiful spaces and learning to fish with her two teenage sons.
