Farrah Hughes PhD, ABPP

Dr. Farrah Hughes is a licensed psychologist and is nationally certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology. She serves as Associate Vice President for Behavioral Health at HopeHealth, a Federally Qualified Health Center with over 20 sites across five counties. In this role, she leads a comprehensive behavioral health team that includes behavioral health consultants integrated into primary care and specialty medical settings, outpatient psychotherapy services, psychiatry, and a substance use disorder treatment program offering counseling, care navigation, and medication-assisted treatment. 

Prior to joining HopeHealth in 2017, Dr. Hughes served at McLeod Regional Medical Center, where she was Behavioral Science Director and Associate Professor of Family Medicine, as well as Director of the Employee Assistance Program for McLeod Health. From 2005-2014, she was an Associate Professor of Psychology at Francis Marion University, coordinating the M. S. program in Applied Psychology (Clinical/Counseling track) and chairing the Psychology Department. 

Dr. Hughes earned her Ph.D in Clinical Psychology from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and completed her predoctoral internship at the Brown University/Alpert Medical School and Providence VA Medical Center training consortium.

Her clinical interests focus on integrated behavioral health and primary care, promoting couple and family well-being, and supporting individuals in managing trauma, anxiety, depression, and chronic medical conditions. She is passionate about mentoring graduate trainees and providing continuing education for clinicians working in the demanding and rewarding field of behavioral health.
