For more than 20 years, I have had the privilege of serving children, mothers, families, and individuals throughout the Marlboro County community in a variety of roles, including Certified Community Health Worker, Parenting Coordinator, Tutor, Videography Coach, Community Involvement Leader, and EPRUS/SHALOM AmeriCorps alumna.
For nearly 10 years, I have served as a Community Health Worker, supporting expectant mothers, new mothers, children, and families by connecting them with resources, education, encouragement, and support. These titles represent only a small part of my journey. At the heart of everything I do is a genuine love for people and a desire to help others feel seen, supported, and empowered.
My journey has been built on hard work, discipline, perseverance, and a commitment to lifelong learning. I am a graduate of several programs and schools, served on many boards, committees and coalitions bringing together my knowledge and experience in community, community health, nutrition, culinary arts, and wellness.
I believe education is more than collecting diplomas and certifications—it is about using what you learn to make a difference. I currently co-serve alongside William Shawn Garrett on SCCHWA’s Workforce Development as well as Marlboro County First Steps Board but whether I am helping a family navigate resources, encouraging healthier choices, supporting fellow CHWs, mothers, working with children, or simply listening, my mission is to serve, educate, encourage, and empower people one person, one family, and one community at a time.
