Kelsey Witmeier MPH
Kelsey Witmeier is PhD Candidate in Community Health Sciences at LSU Health in New Orleans. She earned both her Master of Public Health in Social and Behavioral Sciences and her Bachelor of Public Health from the University of Florida. Kelsey served as a community health worker in her hometown of St. Augustine, Florida, supporting local COVID-19 response efforts. Since then, she has worked in evaluation to support a National CHW Technical Assistance Center, research on Medicaid Billing for CHW Research, and the surveying of Louisiana CHWs and CHW supervisors. Witmeier has worked in the suicide prevention as a Question, Persuade, Refer trainer and has assisted with programming as well as research in the space. She leads a suicide prevention research workgroup with the American Public Health Association’s Mental Health section.
