Dr. Fredric Mau (D.Min. M.A. M.Div., LPC, LPCS) is a licensed mental health counselor and hypnotherapist. He contributed substantial sections on hypnotherapy, postmodern therapy, existential therapy and humanistic therapy to Kilgus & Badre (2026) Essential Psychopathology and Its Treatment, a psychiatric medical textbook published by Norton. Dr. Mau previously served on the medical faculty of a psychiatry residency program. A popular speaker, he regularly speaks internationally and has given keynote addresses at various conferences in four countries on three continents. His presentations are fun, practical, and evidence based. He is the author of three books and has won several professional awards in the US and Europe, including the SC Counseling Association’s Distinguished Professional Service and Outstanding Counselor awards.
