Raymond Cox MD
Dr. Raymond Cox currently serves as Executive Director of the Volunteers in Medicine clinic on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. He also serves as consultant to the Perinatal Steering Committee for Ascension Health. He served as Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer at Providence Hospital in Washington, DC and as Chair of Ob/Gyn at Saint Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Cox received his undergraduate degree from Howard University and medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology from Emory University/Grady Memorial Hospital. He received his MBA in Medical Management from Johns Hopkins. Dr. Cox has spent most of his career caring for underserved populations, with an emphasis on maternal and child health. He has served on several committees for ACOG, including Chair of the Committee on the Health of Underserved Women. He recently served on the Secretary’s Advisory Committee on Infant Mortality and on the Government Affairs and Public Policy Committee for March of Dimes and is Past Board Chair for the National Perinatal Information Center.
