LaShandra Morgan
LaShandra Morgan is the Tri-County Health Network Manager at the Regional Medical Center of Orangeburg, a researcher for the Center for Community Health Alignment (CCHA) at the University of South Carolina Arnold School of Public Health, and owner of Edible Antidote LLC.
LaShandra is most proud of her work with healthy food access. She along with community partners have been able to achieve increasing healthy food access through community gardening in low-income and rural populations by helping to establish a non-profit organization called Growing COB. This group has teamed up with Wholespire, the Tri-County Health Network, Southeastern Housing and Community Development, the South Carolina Association for Community Economic Development (SCACED), various libraries, extension agents, community members and others. LaShandra has also had experience with starting food pantries and transforming existing food pantries into “healthy” food pantries by linking them with local farmers and coordinating gleaning efforts so that pantries can give away fresh fruits and vegetables.
