Lamikka Samuel LMSW
Lamikka Samuel is the Senior Director of Family Solutions a program of the SC Office of Rural Health responsible for implementation of a Healthy Start initiative, Nurse Family Partnership a Healthy Steps program and a Family Resource Center. Lamikka has been a social worker for over 20 years and is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a master’s degree in social work. Prior to her current position, Lamikka was a direct service social worker for Family Solutions providing in-home visits and support to families during pregnancy and into the postpartum period. She has worked for one of the state’s largest hospital systems as a social work case manager in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Lamikka is a Certified Community Health Worker and certified as an ACE Master Trainer by The Children’s Trust of SC. She is currently completing requirements for certification in perinatal mood disorders. Lamikka is a past president of the SC Perinatal Association Board, a member of the SC Birth Outcomes Advisory Council, and represents the field of social work on the states Maternal Morbidity and Mortality Review Committee.
Lamikka has been and continues to be invested in supporting and promoting initiatives to address perinatal health. This is evidenced by her involvement in a number of local, state, and national maternal and infant health related committees and task forces.
