Description
The economic cost of obesity in South Carolina is estimated to be $8.5 billion per year and growing. Obesity impacts all medical providers; surgical, non-surgical, adult, geriatrics, and pediatrics. The risks of not reversing this epidemic will surely be detrimental to all of our health in the future. You and your healthcare team members can learn the “How-To” for fighting obesity in your practice and community, please accept our invitation to a free CME tele-conference led by our state's most respected obesity experts.
Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Define the various social and environmental influences that impact a person’s health.
  • Use the County Health Rankings & Roadmaps to describe the current health and factors that affect health in your community and identify resources to facilitate action.
  • Identify resources to positively influence the social and cultural contributing factors resulting in better weight control.
  • Implement utilization of the 5-2-1-0 Toolkit within your respective community environment. (schools, child care, healthcare and workplaces).
