Description
Participants will receive an overview of vulnerable populations and participate in an interactive poverty simulation. This course includes a pre-test, assignment, post-test and evaluation. The module objectives are aligned to the following SC Health Science 2 Standard: Foundation of Healthcare Professions Standard 3: Systems: Identify how key systems affect services performed and quality of care. 3.1. Explain factors influencing healthcare delivery systems such as Affordable Care Act and aging populations
Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Identify at-risk populations that are more likely to experience poor healthcare conditions
  • Describe how poverty affects individuals, families and systems of care in the United States
