Description
This program is offered through a partnership with LEND to identify misconceptions about the goals of wellness from Healthy People 2010. A working definition of wellness will be discussed, as well as information about physical activity and how to engage children and children with disabilities to increase physical activity.
Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Incorporate the goals of the Healthy People initiative into their health care practice.
  • Explain the benefits of exercise and wellness to patients and caregivers.
  • Identify at least two physical activities for children with disabilities for wellness.
