Description
This program is designed to update providers on sickle cell disease which was once considered a pediatric disease because patients rarely lived beyond childhood. Today, due to better medical management, many patients live into adulthood. Unfortunately, the health care system has not yet evolved to meet the needs of this new population of adult patients with sickle cell disease.
