Description
This SCHOOLS presentation is the sister tele-presentation to the article in the lastest Progressnotes, MUSC Medical magazine. Drs. Cheeseman and Guile and Ms. Bowers-Palmer will summarize the warning signs of and factors that contribute to physician burnout, explore its implications for patient care and discuss institutional and physician-directed strategies to combat it.

Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize the warning signs of physician burnout.
  • Explain why physician burnout is a patient safety issue and recognize that obtaining help to address it is the best way to ensure that patient care is not impaired.
  • Discuss institutional and physician-directed strategies to address physician burnout.
