Welcome to the Choose Well: Contraception Multiparous & Cultural Competency module. This module is the fourth of six modules available discussing contraception prescribing with different types of patient populations. Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Master the use of shared decision making and patient centered counseling using cultural competency.
  • Discuss postpartum phase of pregnancy and considerations for contraceptive choices.
  • Use MEC to counsel high risk patients regarding contraception options.
  • Explore beliefs regarding cultural competency and contraceptive management.
  • Understand fertility awareness based contraception methods and how they fit into counseling patients regarding effectiveness of contraception methods.
