Description
The training is to serve as an overview of depression in a pediatric population. Though there may be an understanding about depression in general, it is often difficult to identify depression in children. This course will describe depression,how it presents in children, and how interventions are applied for children with depression.
Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • list diagnostic criteria for depression
  • recognize symptoms of depression in children
  • identify causes of depression and its prevalence
  • identify other disorders often misdiagnosed when a child has depression
  • list treatments for depression and identify inappropriate interventions for emotional disorders
