Description
Participants will receive an overview of the health careers, including challenges, opportunities, and options. This course includes a pre-test, assignment, post-test and evaluation. The module objectives are aligned to South Carolina High School State Standards for the following Health Science Pathways and Human Services Courses: Health Science 1-5550 Foundations of Healthcare Professions, Healthcare Science 2-5551 Essentials of Healthcare Practices, Family and Consumer Sciences-1 (FACS-1), Family and Consumer Sciences-2 (FACS-2), Financial Fitness, and Mental Health Fitness.
Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Summarize why health care can be a good career field
  • Identify challenges and opportunities in the healthcare field
  • Describe several types of clinical and non-clinical health career options
