Description
This is a FREE continuing education program for all School Nurses. Dr. Raymond Lala, Director of the Division of Oral Health at DHEC, will provide a comprehensive review of dental screening policy and procedures in the school setting.

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the tooth decay process and the connection of oral health to overall health and well being
  • Comprehend the current status of oral health from a state and national perspective
  • Explain the role of the school nurse and the policy recommendations for dental screenings in school settings
  • Apply concepts of the Basic Screening Survey for dental screening in the school setting
