Description
Participants will learn how ethics plays an important role in the health care profession. This course includes a pre-test, assignment, post-test and evaluation. This program addresses South Carolina High School State Standards from the following Health Science Pathways and Human Services Courses: Health Science 1-5550 Foundations of Healthcare Professions, Healthcare Science 2 - 5551 Essential Healthcare Practices, Family and Consumer Sciences-1 (FACS-1), and Family and Consumer Sciences-2 (FACS-2).
Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the four principles of healthcare ethics and how adherence can improve patient care.
  • Identify legal rights and obligations that affect patients and protect individual rights, including rights of health care professionals.
