Description
It has been 32 years since the passing of Americans with Disabilities Act and healthcare is still behind in providing accessible services. Many of our partner clinics need to update their systems and the way they provide care in order to be compliant with ADA. At the end of this session, attendees will have a greater understanding of ADA, how ADA applies to their work, and next steps to ensure that they are providing equitable, accessible care.
Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the medical accommodations needed for people with disabilities.
  • Understand the barriers that people with disabilities face.
  • Understand the role of a medical professional is to provide equitable and accessible care.
