Description
This conference brings together professionals from nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and disability and special needs services to explore critical issues affecting vulnerable populations. Through expert-led sessions, attendees will gain insights into the role of the Long-Term Care Ombudsman, residents’ rights, and safeguarding elderly individuals from abuse, neglect, and financial scams. The conference will also address Department of Health citations in long-term care, hospital placements and discharges, and strategies to protect older and at-risk adults in various healthcare settings. Additionally, participants will engage in discussions on Medicare—from A to Z—ensuring a comprehensive understanding of benefits and policies that impact care decisions. The event will also highlight the ten warning signs of Alzheimer's, equipping caregivers and professionals with essential knowledge for early detection and intervention. With a lineup of knowledgeable speakers, this conference serves as a vital resource for those committed to improving care, advocacy, and protections for vulnerable individuals in long-term and assisted living environments.
