Description
This course is designed for those who care for the dying and those who go on living after a death. Participants will learn practical skills and techniques useful to those who are navigating the painful and disorienting path of death.
Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Provide competent and effective spiritual care to individuals facing their own or someone else’s death.
  • Discuss ways to help those who are feeling a range of emotions following a death.
  • Explain ways to help those who are guilty of accidentally or unintentionally killing someone.
  • Discuss how to help those who lost a loved one, navigate the emotions of anger, and unforgiveness.
  • Prepare for some of those unexpected issues that arise when someone dies.
  • Explain from firsthand accounts, what to say and what not to say in the volatile atmosphere surrounding a death.
