Description
Our understanding of trauma and its impact on health and mental health has grown exponentially in recent years. Likewise, Trauma-Informed Care has advanced as a best-practice for clinical services and is crucial to providing the most compassionate and effective care possible to those in our care. Many individuals and organizations, however, do not have an understanding of all that Trauma Informed Care encompasses. This training will focus on aspects of trauma and how Trauma Informed Care helps to build pathways toward better clinical care and healing.
Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Define Trauma.
  • List three potential sources of trauma.
  • Articulate two potential impacts of early trauma and adverse childhood experiences.
  • Identify Trauma-Informed Care Principles.
