Description
During this session, HCA participants will gain an understanding of the HCA's focus. In addition, students will be introduced to the career path of Radiation Oncology, which is in the Physical Health sub-cluster of the Healthcare & Human Services Career Cluster. This career cluster promotes whole health in individuals and communities through a diverse array of services. This career cluster also encompasses technical, mental, and therapeutic services, as well as personal care, supported by medical and social sciences.

Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Define the Physical Health sub-cluster in the Healthcare and Human Services Career Cluster
  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of a Radiation Oncologist
  • Identify Labor Market Information (LMI) education, career outlook, salary expectation, and requirements needed for a career as a Radiation Oncologist
