Description
This class takes you beyond the basics of bandages and ice packs to dive into the real-world scenarios you face every day as a school nurse. Topics covered include eating disorders, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), rashes, and functional neurologic disorders in relation to school age children and how to best help the student while at school.

Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • list at least three types of eating disorders.
  • recognize the signs and symptoms of Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS).
  • differentiate common and urgent rashes.
  • define and recognize Functional Neurologic Disorders.
