Description
This presentation explores the importance of vaccinations as a cornerstone of public health. It will explain how vaccines work to protect individuals from serious and preventable diseases, reduce the spread of infections, and contribute to herd immunity—helping safeguard those who cannot be vaccinated due to age or medical conditions. By highlighting scientific evidence, real-world impacts, and community-wide benefits, this presentation aims to reinforce why vaccinations are a safe, effective, and essential tool for maintaining healthy individuals and resilient communities.
Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Explain how vaccines work to prevent infectious diseases and protect individual health.
  • Describe the concept of herd immunity and why high vaccination rates are critical to protecting vulnerable populations.
  • Identify key public health benefits of vaccination, including reduced disease spread, prevention of outbreaks, and improved community health outcomes.
