Description
So You Want to Work in Healthcare is a virtual career exploration panel that introduces students to the many pathways within the healthcare field. Healthcare professionals representing a variety of clinical, administrative, and support roles will share their career experiences, daily responsibilities, and educational journeys. Students will gain a better understanding of the skills and training required across different healthcare professions while exploring career options beyond traditional roles. The panel will also highlight how careers in healthcare contribute to improved health outcomes and support individuals, communities, and underserved populations.
Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Identify a variety of healthcare career paths across clinical, administrative, and support roles.
  • Understand the education, training, and skills required for different healthcare professions.
  • Discuss career journeys and experiences of healthcare professionals.
  • Recognize the impact healthcare careers have on individuals, communities, and underserved populations.
