Description
This full day inter-active course explores critical components that are key to effective leadership. Leadership styles, personality traits and how they affect communication will be discussed. Strategies for managing the shift, utilization of resources, and decision making models will be examined in relation to effective leadership. Dealing with difficult behaviors, safe delegation, as well as legal implications for nurse leaders will also be addressed in this seminar. This workshop is a must for any nurse in a new leadership position including that of charge nurse or for seasoned leaders who are looking for new insight.

Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Explain role requirements of Nurse Leaders.
  • Describe the influence of leadership styles on teamwork.
  • Examine the relationship between decision-making, time management, and effective leadership.
  • Discuss communication strategies for dealing with difficult behaviors.
  • Identify critical components of safe delegation.
  • Explore the legal implications for nurse leaders.
