Description
This training will go deeper into the MI (Motivational Interviewing) spirit of PACE: partnering, acceptance, compassion and encouragement. We will explore how to build upon our basic skills toward more complex reflections to guide our clients through ambivalence.  
Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Gain a deeper understanding of the spirit of Motivational Interviewing and how such is needed in this work with clients.
  • Define all parts of PACE: Partnering, Acceptance, Compassion and Encouragement.
  • Differentiate between simple and complex reflections.
  • Prepare for using complex reflections.
