Description
Diabetic foot problems are among the most common, costly and severe complications of diabetes. Diabetes can reduce blood circulation and damage the nerves in the feet.

Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • describe diabetic foot problems.
  • recognize and explain the prevention of diabetic foot problems.
  • explain the symptoms and risk criteria for developing diabetic foot problems.
  • perform clinical evaluation of the feet in people with diabetes.
  • interpret the care for diabetic foot ulcers.
  • outline a care plan for diabetic foot care.
  • assess and document a patient’s foot.
