Description
Pee Dee AHEC's HCP team will visit Marion High School's Media Center to provide an interactive healthcare career exploration experience for students. Through a combination of virtual reality (VR) simulations and guided discussion, students will explore a variety of healthcare careers and gain insight into the education, skills, and pathways associated with different healthcare professions. As students participate in immersive "Day in the Life" VR experiences, they will have the opportunity to virtually step into different healthcare roles and settings. This hands-on experience will help students connect their interests and strengths to potential healthcare careers while expanding their awareness of the many opportunities available within the healthcare field.
Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Identify multiple healthcare careers by describing the roles and responsibilities.
  • Compare healthcare careers based on responsibilities, work environments, and educational requirements.
  • Evaluate my own interests and strengths to identify potential healthcare career pathways for further exploration.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of healthcare career responsibilities by participating in interactive VR "Day in the Life" simulations.
