Description
Students will work collaboratively to identify the members of a healthcare team involved in preparing a patient for surgery and explore the unique roles and responsibilities of each profession. Through this interactive experience, students will gain exposure to a variety of healthcare careers while developing teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills. Participants will learn how healthcare professionals work together to achieve the best possible outcomes for their patients.
Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Examine at least three healthcare professionals involved in preparing a patient for surgery and describe their roles and responsibilities within the healthcare team.
  • Apply team building skills to solve challenges and complete tasks while demonstrating effective teamwork and communication.
  • Explain how healthcare professionals from various disciplines work together to provide safe, effective patient care and achieve positive patient outcomes.
