Description
This 30-minute program will take place during the lunch period where students will step into the role of a nurse through engaging, hands-on activities. Participants will practice basic clinical skills, including taking vital signs, applying bandages, and communicating with patients, while learning about the vital roles nurses play in delivering quality patient care. This interactive experience introduces students to healthcare careers, strengthens teamwork and critical thinking skills, and inspires exploration of future opportunities in the medical field.

Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Identify at least three responsibilities of a nurse and describe the role nurses play in patient care.
  • Demonstrate basic healthcare skills, including taking a pulse, applying a simple bandage, and practicing proper hand hygiene.
  • Explore nursing and healthcare career pathways by participating in hands-on activities and discussing educational requirements for healthcare professions.
