Description
Healthcare professionals dedicate their careers to caring for others, but it is equally important that they learn how to care for themselves. Mental Health for Future Healthcare Professionals: Caring for Yourself While Caring for Others is an interactive session designed to introduce students interested in healthcare careers to the importance of mental and emotional well-being. Students will explore common sources of stress, burnout, and emotional challenges that healthcare professionals may experience. Through discussion, real-world healthcare scenarios, and self-reflection, students will learn practical strategies for managing stress, maintaining healthy boundaries, practicing self-care, and recognizing when additional support may be needed.

  • Define mental health, stress, burnout, and self-care as they relate to healthcare professions.
  • Understand the importance of maintaining mental and emotional well-being while working in a healthcare environment.
