Description
An interactive and educational workshop designed to help high school students better understand stress, anxiety, and their impact on overall well-being. Through a presentation led by a guest speaker, students will learn about common causes of stress and anxiety, recognize healthy and unhealthy responses to challenging situations, and explore practical coping strategies that support emotional wellness. The workshop will include engaging activities, such as anxiety awareness games and hands-on stress ball-making activity. The event aims to empower students with knowledge, skills, and resources to promote resilience, self-awareness, and positive mental health practices. In addition, students will learn about careers in mental health, including the role of psychiatric professionals and the educational pathways available to those interested in supporting individuals with mental health needs.
Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Identify common signs, symptoms, and causes of stress and anxiety among adolescents.
  • Explain the impact of stress and anxiety on mental, emotional, and academic well-being.
  • Create a personal stress-management tool (stress ball) and demonstrate how it can be used as part of a healthy self-care routine
