Description
The purpose of this field trip is to expose high school students to healthcare career pathways through an immersive, hands-on learning experience. In partnership with the participating school, our program provides students with opportunities to explore careers in healthcare while developing an understanding of the skills, training, and professional responsibilities required in the health field. By participating in interactive simulations and skills lab experiences, students will gain valuable insight into healthcare professions and the day-to-day responsibilities of healthcare providers. The experience is designed to inspire students to consider future educational and career opportunities within the healthcare industry.
Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Identify at least three healthcare career pathways and describe the education, training, or certification requirements associated with each profession.
  • Demonstrate basic clinical skills by participating in simulation-based activities, including the creation and treatment of simulated wounds using medical mannequins and healthcare training equipment.
