Description
Steady Path to Success: Healthcare in Action is an interactive, hands-on student engagement experience designed to fulfill Lowcountry AHEC’s commitment under the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Technical College of the Lowcountry and strengthen the partnership between both organizations. The initiative provides students with opportunities to develop and enhance the skills needed to become successful healthcare professionals while supporting them throughout their health career journey. Through Lowcountry AHEC’s longitudinal tracking system, students’ participation, progress, professional development, and career pathway milestones will be followed as they advance from education and training into the healthcare workforce.
Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Develop an individual action plan connecting my academic and career goals to Lowcountry AHEC resources and opportunities, including professional development, mentorship, clinical exposure, and workforce preparation.
  • Apply effective communication, teamwork, and problem-solving strategies during a hands-on healthcare activity.
  • Describe the roles of healthcare professionals and the importance of communication, teamwork, and professionalism within an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
