Description
This course will explore the ways in which health and healthcare disparities impact cost, risk management, safety and quality. Establishing the business case for health equity, especially in women’s health, will allow the learner to understand the personal value of finding solutions for this complicated endemic issue. This program is brought to you in partnership with New Morning Foundation, a non-profit founded to reduce unintended pregnancy within a generations time. Choose Well is the initiative to accomplish this goal. In South Carolina approximately 50% of all pregnancies are unintended. Unintended pregnancies cost almost $79 million per year The average cost of providing birth control to a woman is about $250. The average cost of a baby born on MediCaid is $13,000.
