This program provides information on the impact of alcohol use and misuse related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Resources and aid available for healthcare professionals, those working in helping professions, and patients are discussed.

Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the diagnosis and facts about Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD).
  • Discuss the impact of Alcohol Use Disorder.
  • Describe potential risks of increased use related to COVID-19.
  • Discuss insights from professional counselors related to screening and treatment of AUD.
  • Identify the relationship of alcohol and self-care deficits in helping professionals, as well as the impact of underage alcohol use in SC.
  • Identify SC Hopes as a resource and referral entity for mental health and addictions related issues.
