Description
Hypertension is a long-recognized health burden in the US, and particularly the southeastern region of the US. Recent treatment guidelines have been developed to categorize blood pressure levels and treatment. This program addresses the implementation of the guidelines in primary care settings with a special focus for clinics serving underserved patient populations. This program provides an overview of guidelines and how it may impact primary care teams. CME accreditation expiration date: 11/22/2024
Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss an overview of implementing the hypertension guidelines for the team in the primary care setting
  • Explain the goal and development of the ACC/AHA guidelines
  • Define hypertension treatment goals in the primary care setting
  • Describe the implications of the ACA/AHA guidelines for clinical practice
