Description
Early transitional care affects the immediate health as well as the long-term outcome of the infant. The S.T.A.B.L.E. Program content is critical in the effort to reduce infant mortality and morbidity and is intended for use by all members of the healthcare team. The March of Dimes and the American Academy of Pediatrics endorse the S.T.A.B.L.E. Program. Prerequisite: NRP

Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss issues of patient safety and error reduction in the delivery of healthcare to infants.
  • Identify the S.T.A.B.L.E. mnemonic to assist with retention and recall of stabilization activities that are critical for post- resuscitation and pre-transport care of sick infants.
