Description
During the virtual discussion, Bruce McIntyre III, who appeared in the documentary Aftershock, shares his story about navigating the healthcare system during the COVID-19 pandemic with his pregnant fiancée, and the events that led to her death during an emergency C-section. He will discuss his work to address the maternal health crisis and strategies to reduce health disparities in pregnant women.
Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Describe challenges to maternal health care during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Identify community-based strategies to address the maternal health crisis.
