Description
A doula helps open your eyes to the beauty and empowerment of giving birth. A doula helps you ignite your natural ability to choose the best birthing options & postpartum care plan for you. Learn with Karen as she thoroughly explains what doulas are and their impact on the birthing community.

Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the barriers Black women face in accessing quality prenatal care, including financial constraints, lack of insurance, transportation issues, and healthcare provider biases.
  • Discuss the disproportionate rates of maternal mortality and morbidity.
  • Define what doulas are and their impact on the birthing community.
