Description
This program is designed to increase service providers’ knowledge and skillful engagement with mutual aid supports for their clients. Research and anecdotal evidence suggest that client outcomes in mental health, substance use, and co-occurring conditions benefit from the addition of mutual aid supports. These groups and communities offer a distinct form of recovery support, which centers the value of connections through shared experiences.
Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Understand knowledge of current adolescent substance use disorder prevalence and trends.
  • Increased understanding of the risk factors for adolescent substance use disorders, including ACEs.
  • Consider confidence in the approach to engagement of adolescents with a history of ACEs and substance use.
