Description
The purpose of this interactive seminar is to provide insight on how to improve patient outcomes through critical thinking skills. Course content will include a critical thinking model (that works!), symptom analysis, barriers to and strategies that promote critical thinking, early recognition of impending doom in patients, and correlation between critical thinking and time management.

Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Analyze definitions of critical thinking.
  • Describe how to perform Symptom Analysis.
  • Differentiate critical thinking and non-critical thinking clinical performance behaviors.
  • Explore practice strategies that enhance critical thinking at the bedside.
  • Discuss strategies to assist with early recognition of impending doom in patients.
  • Discuss impact of critical thinking on time management.
