Description
Assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of all bodily systems, as well as treatment of selected emergencies will be covered, as guided by the ENA Core Curriculum. Test-taking skills and sample questions will be presented.

Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • assess and provide emergency nursing care to the patient with neurological emergencies.
  • describe the anatomy and physiology of the cardiac system and assess and provide emergency nursing care to the patient with cardiac emergencies.
  • assess and provide emergency nursing care to the patient with pulmonary emergencies.
  • assess and provide emergency nursing care to the patient with orthopedic/wound emergencies.
  • discuss professional issues and legal implications of various emergencies.
  • assess and provide emergency nursing care to the patient with general medical emergencies.
  • assess and provide emergency nursing care to the patient with multi-system trauma and/or shock.
  • assess and provide emergency nursing care of the patient with GI emergencies.
  • assess and provide emergency nursing care of the patient with a GU/GYN/OB emergency.
  • list concepts of emergency nursing care to the patient with substance abuse, toxicological, psychosocial, or general environmental emergencies.
  • assess and provide emergency nursing care to the patient with Maxillofacial and ocular emergencies.
