Description
The Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (TCRN™) exam incorporates the body of knowledge in trauma nursing across the continuum of care, from injury prevention through reintegration to home. Upon successful completion of the certification exam, the TCRN credential is valid for a period of 4 years. This dynamic and interactive TCRN review course is designed and developed to prepare nurses specializing in trauma care to take the TCRN examination.

Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Assess and provide emergency nursing care to the patient with head and neck trauma.
  • Assess and provide emergency nursing care to the patient with chest, abdominal, and genitourinary trauma.
  • Describe appropriate nursing interventions and medical treatment modalities for surface and extremity trauma.
  • Integrate knowledge, skills, and ability to enhance the care of the trauma patient.
  • Describe aspects of the trauma continuum of care.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking skills necessary to provide professional/ethical care to trauma patients.
