Description
Although healthy children in general appear to have a lower risk of developing severe complications from Covid-19 than adults, they have not escaped the effects of the pandemic. Studies are reporting a rise in cases of pediatric depression, anxiety, and even suicidal ideation. This course reviews the most common pediatric mental health illnesses found post-pandemic, demonstrates assessment tools, and lists treatment options available.
Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • List the most common psycho-social manifestations related to Covid-19.
  • Recognize the signs and symptoms of common mental health concerns reported post Covid-19.
  • Describe evidence-based treatment options for pediatric Covid-19 related psychological conditions.
