Description
This session introduces students to the wide variety of careers in healthcare and the many ways professionals collaborate and contribute to improving health and well-being. Participants will gain insight into career pathways, educational requirements, and the diverse work settings available.

Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Identify careers available in healthcare.
  • List work settings for healthcare professionals.
  • Describe educational pathways for careers in healthcare.

The sessions are presented as part of the South Carolina AHEC Health Careers Program targeted at high school, undergraduate, and gap year pre-health students. A certificate of participation is only given to those who attend and complete an evaluation. This program does not meet professional development requirements for practicing health professionals.
